On 18th January 1991 I took part in my first Tae Kwon -Do class in Aberdeen and was hooked; I had found what I needed to do.
I continued to train & assist with teaching every week for the next four years and on March 25th 1995 achieved the highly coveted grade of 1st Degree Black belt.
In October of the same year the Inverurie School was established, which, has gone from strength to strength producing both Scottish and British Champions.
After 11 years I made the decision to step back from regular training. Almost immediately, I was approached by Aberdeenshire Council to teach TKD in Schools.
I'm glad to say, I have now successfully made the transition, and moved on to become an Instructor in my own right, and promote TKD on a much larger scale throughout the whole of Aberdeenshire. Banchory TKD was established in May 05 as a direct result of my promotional work with Aberdeenshire Council.
Both schools are doing exceptionally well with increased memberships and are looking forward to a successful and bright future.
